MacBooks are not designed for gaming nor the major game companies port their games for mac-os,
Hence you shoulduld surely buy a windows pc if gaming is your thing…..
MacBooks are wrost for gaming
Not at all.
If you want a portable Mac and also want to play new games on it, then don’t. Get that thought out of your head.
I bought the currently fastest snd most expensive MacBook Pro, because I thought it would also make a decent gaming machine when using Bootcamp.
But it doesn’t. It barely runs new games at 1080/30 with medium-low setting.
Get a reasonable gaming PC for like 500$ (and upgrade later if needed) and use your Mac for work only.
That being said, they of course run not so demanding games just fine (GS:GO, LOL, DOTA, CIV5, TF2 …) but all the current Macs do that, you don’t need one of the more expensive ones for those.
The MacBook Pro is efficient, but that is not what you want for gaming. You want brute processor power, and that is not what Macs or run-of-the-mill Windows machines do well.
Apple computers are intended to be remarkably stable, reliable, have great battery life, great screens, run cool, run quiet, have very good keyboards, etc. They are the Lexus of computers, you want a muscle car.
Absolutely not. Macs are not designed for gaming. You’ll need a decent build and Windows to start gaming.
Im sure you’ve heard a lot of people say they are bad for gaming, but that doesn’t mean these laptops are bad. The thing is, these aren’t made for gaming, they are made to get work done, and the software + hardware in MacBooks is not designed for gaming. Apple’s aim for MacBooks is build quality (which is the best imo), sound quality (which is also the best imo), graphics, efficiency, and, simplicity. In my opinion, these machines can handle light gaming, but are almost unmatched when it comes to working efficiency. I use my MacBook at home and school, and I love it. If you are thinking about buying a new one, you don’t have to buy the latest model. I would recommend buying a 2015 MacBook Pro, I had mine for 5 years, and I had to upgrade battery only once.
Kind of
The thing about macbooks are that they're not really made for gaming, but don't let that fool you into thinking they can't run games. Mine plays games like portal and terraria perfectly, but those are kind of low res games, but since I downloaded a bunch of mods to terraria, it would probably crash a normal laptop, but not apple. On the most it lags a little bit, but that could just be the game. So, I got fortnite on it, and even at all max settings, it runs pretty well. Now, it’s a little slow, but that parts kind of been helping me get better at the game. Still completely playable, but expect some slow reaction to your mouse. Also, I have serious Sam 3 on it, the higher graphics one, and it runs that no problem. Now, serious Sam 3, even with better graphics, is kind of a little… I don't the word for it, but the graphics aren't the best. But, when you start shooting hundreds of monsters, the screen gets filled up with movement and motion. And the mac handles all of this. But if you're looking to play higher res games like the witcher 3 or black ops 4, you should look into getting an external gpu. The Mac's gpu is kind of terrible for really high res games, but that's so it won't burn through battery really fast. But you can get one easy at like best buy or online, for a relatively cheap price. In conclusion, macbooks are good for low to medium res games, but if you're looking to play high res games, get a PC or external gpu.
NONONONONO. NO.
Macs are not for gaming!! They make excellent work/office/business computers, and there’s some light games you can play on it, but macOS has virtually no support from big game developers - I can only name 3 or 4 major games for macOS. It doesn’t matter how good your hardware is, you’re not gonna get very many games running on macOS - at least, not without something like WINE.
Macs were not built with gaming in mind and for the price you will be paying to obtain a mac you can obtain a far superior pc gaming desktop.
You can play games on MacBook Pro but it is not totally made for that.
It is made for using software, video editing, developing, business purpose, etc.
MacBook Pro can play every high-end game currently available in the market but the thing is it is not meant for gaming. It’s slim so when you play games on it, it catches heat a little bit early. That pushes frame drops.
You don’t wanna play games on your MacBook which is so expensive and which can cause some thermal damage.
It can handle every game but I repeat it, it is slim so the ventilation is not that good like a gaming PC.
If you are a casual gamer then you can play games on it but it’s not for gaming. You can purchase Acer gaming laptop which is available in a much lesser price than MacBook pro.
Friends don’t let friends game on Apple.
MacBooks are not intended for gaming! Furthermore, in any real sense they can’t be upgraded to be gaming machines. Not while remaining portable.
Just like a lot of MBP’s, you have a pretty nice machine there… except for that lame, wimpy, cheapass onboard excuse for a real graphics card. But that should be ok, because you have plenty of RAM - and gee whiz, it’s an infinitely superior magical WozniApple! Right?
I have actually seen “logic” like this on forums.
The thing is… for gaming, the GPU is life or death. Apple engineers are some of the most brilliant in the world. They know this!!! Apparently they don’t care. Apple simply does not make gaming machines - at least not yet. The entire world knows this.
The only real hope there is for serious gaming on your Macbook is relatively new product - an external GPU, or eGPU. But hold onto your wallet - it ain’t gonna be cheap. Or portable.
You will need to boot camp Windows, I highly recommend Win 10. You’ll also need a decent external monitor, an eGPU will not power your laptop screen. And you’ll want a gaming mouse, and keyboard, and speakers… Might need an external HD pretty soon… Getting my drift here? You are essentially turning your Apple laptop - into a PC desktop!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62z9Af3HoXg FWIW, with what you will spend doing this, you could get about 2/3 of the way to a real PC gaming tower.
Of course using an eGPU, you can disconnect everything and have an actual portable laptop - but it still won’t game when you get there.
