Stereo Mix is a feature that allows users to record audio from their PC exactly as it comes out of their speakers.

It can be enabled by right-clicking the audio icon in the system tray and making sure both "View Disabled Devices" and "View Disconnected Devices" options are checked.

Once enabled, users can open up their favorite recording program and select it instead of their microphone before recording, or disable or unplug their microphone and make "Stereo Mix" the default recording device.

It can also be used to broadcast audio from PC with an encoder like BUTT.
