Summary
To set up a Teams group, click on the Teams tab on the left side of the page, then click Join or create a team at the bottom of the teams list, and select Create a new team. Invite people to join the team by adding individual users, groups, and contact groups.

To create a group within the team, click on the three dots next to the team name and select Add channel.

Give the new channel the name of the group and set the privacy to private.
